Do you save money by shopping online?

We have started shopping online regularly and seem to be saving money on the weekly shopping,or are we?
We usually take a list when going to the supermarket, but always end up getting 'offers' like £1 and 2 for £3 etc walking round the shop and probably buy some items we wouldn't otherwise buy.
When shopping online we tend just to buy what we need and can keep a track on the amount being spent as we go.
Do you think online shopping saves money,or not?

As someone who shops online and in-store I don't think that's a straightforward answer.
You won't get tempted to buy things you don't need so much when shopping online so that can save money.
Conversely, if you're in store you can find YS bargains that you won't get shopping online. However, if the YS things are junk food basically you're not doing yourself any favours by buying them.
Having heavy stuff delivered is really useful eg dog food, water, washing powder.0 -
Shopping in store I tend to just go for what's on my list and might spot a few items in promotional bays. (I rarely go over my intended budget)
Shopping online I'll can have a quick perusal at their offers.(on / off my list and am more likely to go over my budget now n again)
I try to subsidise any delivery charge by getting some good offers in like Cat Food.0 -
Hi,
I started shopping online about 12 month's ago and it saves me money as i can search through the offer's section and check ive got everything i need over a few day's before placing my order and also keep up with the amount i'm spending.
If going instore i seem to spend more and alot of the stuff that's on offer i can't find or it's out of stock where online if they don't have the stock they send the bigger or a more expensive item as a substitute and don't charge me anymore for it.
They do have some reduced item's instore only but i wouldn't say there's that many

I don't shop online because I know I couldn't beat the prices I pay instore. I'm off to Mr T's in 10 minutes, they should be doing the final markdowns of the day, I lurv yellow stickers. Also I am very disciplined and won't put anything in my trolley which is too expensive or I don't need.
IlonaI love skip diving.

Like for like -Yes it saves me money as I go through the special offers and build meal plans around them -also I don't buy store cupboard stuff and then get home to find I've got three of the item already. However if I go to Aldi instead of Sainsburys I save even more.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

i shop online for over a year now. usually, i use mysupermarket to check prices across all stores, and than choose the cheapest basket available. i have a weekly list which is stored and i always start from that, so it saves me a lot of time, too. also - there are always online offers that sometimes you can't even find when you walk the isle. lately, in mysupermarket, they started something called "savvy buys" - they claim it's items that are 30 cheaper than the average. this still needs to be proven (come my Sunday weekly buy), it looks promising. they also offer price alerts for items that you pick, so - all in all - you save quite a lont of time and a LOT of money on it.0

I have shopped online for a while now and I find it saves me money - even with the delivery charge. You can check the cupboards as you are shopping so you don't get stuff you don't need.
I have also signed up for the 6 month delivery plan as I like to have mine delivered on a Sunday morning which is £6 so quite expensive.£60 for 26 weeks works out at £2.31, which I quite easily save in petrol costs.Don't Panic - and carry a towel

It saves me money, its 20 miles to the nearest reasonable size supermarket so a fiver in fuel, then there's the time, 30 mins each way driving before you even hit the aisles, and then the hassle of actually doing it.
It gets delivered every fortnight, by a lovely lad who knows I have a back problem so he helps me put it away too
perfect
and I save money as Im not tempted by unnecessarys
