Sky for a day

We used to be sky customers but cancelled our subscription nearly a year ago. We still have the card in the digibox though and get whatever channels come through that. However, theres a rugby match on sky sports tomorrow night which me and DH would love to see (see my sig!) so I'm wondering if you can pay for them to switch Sky Sports on for one night and then cancelling the following day. Btw going out to a pub to watch it isn't a possibility as we have two children aged 3 and 1 and the match doesn't start until after their bedtime .

Can I do this (I guess I can so its probably a daft question) and does anyone think there'd be a problem?

    Hi J

When you call Sky they will tie you in to at least a 1 month subscription for Sky Sports mix (which you can only buy bundled with 2 other mixes - try Variety and Kids). I'm not sure how much this would cost (cheapest would be £34 I think), give them a call on 08702 404 020 to find out. May be pricy - but then again how much would it cost to buy tickets to the match etc?

    Good luck!

The minimum subscription period with sky is 30 days. They activate the account and then you have to ask to be passed through to cancellations where you immediately ask for the account to be cancelled.(Which takes 30 days!) Lots of cricket or rugby fans do this every year with sky.....its not new to them.
If you are going to do it, do it today and make sure the account is reactivated before the crucial match time.

Just make sure that the person that makes the call is the person who has their name of the account.
You never know, if the right offer is available at cancellation dept you might be offered a better deal to stay for a couple of months, and you can still cancel whenever you want. 30 days notice.

I've looked on the website which is most confusing and also I'm confused as to whether we'd be new customers or existing customers.
