I would like to be a translator for the Police, what certificate do I need??

I would like to be a language translator for the Police, what certificate or exam do i need?? does anyone know? I know there is a recognised list of translators, the police uses, so what do I need to get onto that list?

the best thing to do is call scotland yard ( or your local constabulary head quarters) and ask for the recruitment dept. they will be able to tell you exactly what is required.

thanks, yeah im going 2see someone later 2day, but I would do it on self employed basis rather than working at the police, so will see what they say, in the meantime if any1 has any ideas please let me know, thanks
