For your brother, would he like a framed print of the area where you grew up? I used to work in a shop that sold these, and they were very popular. They varied in price from less than a tenner upto about £70. A less expensive one woould have a lighter weight frame and it would be easy to pack and post.

A similar idea is the history of the family surname. My in laws loved theirs when I bought them a framed copy about ten years ago. They still have it on display, although they move it around occasionally.

Thats a cool idea! I might have to use the surname one for my in-laws as I think that's the kind of thing they'd appreciate as well- and I never know what to buy them!

I like the place print idea too but not sure it's one for my brother- I always get the feeling he moves around so much because he's not keen on his home town, or indeed country :rotfl:

That has given me the idea of sending him some photos of the family pet though as I know he misses him a lot! I could use a light frame to save on postage as you've suggested. Thanks :)
