I'm looking for a rear car seat cover so my dog can sit in the back without the seats getting dirty or wet.
Can anyone recommend one please?

Probably won't help you at the moment as I don't know when they will have them in next but Aldi often get them in. i've got 2-3, they are waterproof on one side and they have straps that go round the car headrests. I would recommend them but you have to wait until they come on the weekly specials list, you can sign up for their email alerts. I think they had some dog things in a couple of weeks or so ago, so you might even manage to find a store that has one left.0

It might be optimistic to think your new rescue is going to sit calmly (i.e. suitably restrained etc.) on the back seat of your car
.
I've always liked the idea of a hammock like the one below. Never used one though.

Zooplus often have them on offer - http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_cages_carriers/car_bed
Might be worth trying Ebay too, a second-hand one should be washable.
Don't forget to restrain the dog for everyone's safety - a suitable harness and a way to attach it to the seatbelts or some other safe tether point in the car. You don't want the full force of a dog smacking into the back of your chair in an accident, or the dog flying through the windscreen!0 -
We made our own with Dunelm mill fleeces. We took the head rests off, placed the fleeces over and cut a small holes so we could put headrests back.2 fleeces will cover a large back seat and down to the floor. Easy washed and only cost us about £5 x
We also used one of these xx

Anyone know how I would fit one if my back seat doesn't have headrests ? Bought a cheap one from Aldi and if it is a calm dog it is fine, excitable dogs though just seem to whip it off.0

They do yeah but won't always be ideal as sometimes will have a person in the back seat too ( my neice likes to come on the mucky long walks )0

Do the back of the seats have that felt-y stuff on it? You might find the hook side of velcro sticks to it, you could put some onto a normal hammock/cover and fold it over the back of the seats0 -

Might not be any more robust than your current one though. If you don't mind splurging out, companies like Hatchbag may make custom ones for you - they won't be cheap but will probably outlive the puppy!
This might be a bit sturdier
