Sorry again if there is a thread for this already I'm not too sure if it's my I pad but I can't seem to get any results for what I want when I do a search
Anyway what I'm looking for is a thread discussing the best SM value items and the worst?
I bought Mr As smart price tea bags yesterday which were totally not worth even the 27p they cost!
Kids don't seem to like the sp 'coco pops' or any value weetabix any less. All value ketchups seem to get the thumbs up too!
I bought Mr S basics white choc today and can barely tell the difference from milky bar!

As this is a shopping rather than Old Style question I've moved the thread over to the Food Shopping and Grocery board where you should get more replies.

Mr A Smart Price Lemon Curd is good - something like 27p a jar so I don't think I could make it for that.
The Smart price milk chocolate digestives are also good although you have to watch for outrageous price hikes. They fluctuate between 39p and about 60p. I only buy them at the lower price as I'm miserly:)
The Smart Price porridge oats are also a good buy - great for making hob nobs.NO FARMS = NO FOOD0 -
Thanks PW

We have been trying basic items the last few months. Some we have hated, others have become our staples.
Never again for us have been toilet rolls, shampoo, conditioner, bread, sliced ham and butter.
Repeat buys are dried herbs, fresh fruit and vegetables, mozarella for melting on pizzas but not for eating sliced, plain flour, self raising flour, porridge oats, lemon curd. 4p a tin mushy peas,
stock cubes and MrS basic salami is very good.
We are still just starting to try the range but I have been surprised at how good some things are.£36/£240

I too have been trying value ranges and supermarket own rather than branded items.
NEVER AGAIN: Sainsbury's normal spaghetti hoops (have to stick to Heinz)
AGAIN: All supermarket's own crumpets & pitta bread, Sainsbury's value mixed herbs and black pepper, All supermarket's value custard creams and jaffa cakes. Sainsbury's instant noodles 28p (loads nicer than Batchelors!)
As SoWorried said - only just starting to try it but will read this thread with interest.0 -
I have thought of more, I wouldn't buy tesco basic orange squash, 32p type again. It tasted of tablets.
The lemon and blackcurrant ones are nice though.
