I can safely say that I will never ever take out another payday loan! The last one I took out was a year ago, im slowly clawing my way back now!

Feel sick that I was ever so stupid.

Fully focused now on getting myself debt free and in a stable position.

HSBC are amongst the pickiest in the market at the moment. So I would not fancy any chances of people having anything other than clean credit history on them.

You need to speak to a broker who specialises in bad credit mortgages. I am sure there would be a solution for you.

There is a Financial Adviser on this forum called Dave Ham, he specialises in bad credit mortgages try giving him a call.

    Best of luck

I know that my defaults and late payments will stay on my credit file for 6 years, but is there any hope with 2 years of "good behavior" and saving that I could rectify this mess?

Smaller building societies are more flexible with credit scoring. More so if you save with them for a reasonable period of time. As this demonstrates your ability to manage your personal money affairs.

Likewise both Halifax and Nationwide have FTB incentive saving schemes. Mortgage interest rates may not be best in the market. But if it enables you to get a step up onto the property ladder . Something worth considering.

Brilliant! This has helped loads :)

I've just been having a look at nationwide and they do a save to buy scheme so as soon as my debts are paid off I'm going to look into this more closely. Hopefully building up a good relationship over the next few years!

Thanks again, its made me feel so much better knowing there's a little bit of hope!

i took out a mortgage 3 years ago with a subprime lender i had a 6K default and and a debt managment plan showing up on experian

with poorer credit ratings there are deals to be had with higher interest rates and they usually want a minimun deposit of 20% but speak to a all of the market broker when your ready

but , the best position you can be in is overdraft free , balances paid off on credit cards , loan free , and no late payments on anything

ccjs , defaults etc will cause problems and dont make the mistake when you order your own credit file that you make sure you put all the addresses that you have lived in the last 6 years as if you only put your current 1 in and you have a default from a old address it wont show up

yah, his is [STRIKE]878 (fair)[/STRIKE] Means nothing, check reports for later payments/defaults/incorrect entries/dates are correct/ccj's/ closed accounts/unused accounts but thats cus he has no credit cards and only one current account so has opened up a current account and is applying for credit card with Nationwide (advised by our mortgage broker) to up his credit rating a bit more to prove he can handle his finances

i dont get why you get penalised for not needing any credit either! Its not a case of not needing it, just they have no history on you, and i wouldnt lend a fiver to a stranger even if they were drving a ferrari!

p.s where is Preston[STRIKE]ia[/STRIKE]!?!? Lol:rotfl: sorry just what friends and family call it.
