Change of Parties / Mortgage **Help**

Options
Myself and my partner split up quite a while ago and I have continued to stay in the house with my daughter, paying the mortgage on my own.

I was unsuccessful at trying to get the mortgage in just my own name so myself and my current partner who does not live with me is willing to go on it to get my ex off.

(The ex is consenting to getting his name removed btw)

I am with Northern Rock.
SECURED: £64,929.84
UNSECURED: £7,515.51
METHOD: Repayment plan
TERM: 29 years, 1 month

I have been offered TOG 5 yr fixed at 4.78%

Is this a good deal?

If not how easy is it to get a new mortgage deal (from another lender) while also trying to get my ex's name off? Can this be done at the time of change or does it need to be done after?

Please help, thank you!!
