Sainsbury Bakery Apple Pie

I wouldn't normally buy stuff from the instore bakery in Sainsbobs but today we went not long before closing time and they had a lot of the stuff half price. The Apple pies were reduced from £1.20 to 60p for quite a decent sized pie, I've had bad experiences with horrible in store bakery apple pies before but thought hey if I don't like it the kids will. I very naughtily had a slice at about 11pm and it was gorgeous; lovely light pastry, not at all soggy inside or out, and really lovely apple pie filling, not too tangy but not watery tasting or saccharin sweet like some I have had. Also the filling was generous without being excessive. I'm a bit of a pie connoisseur and this was one of the nicest pies I have ever had of any type.

Never tried that apple pie. Another good commercial apple pie is M&S Bramley Apple Pie - also the one with blackberry is nice as well. Normally get one of these pies during the Dine in for £10 deals.0
