Hi
We are due to visit the Harry Potter Studio shortly and are staying at the Village Hotel Elstree for 2 nights
It would be great to get some local knowledge on
1.) Great gastropubs/country pubs which also cater for small children
2.) Other worthwhile days out in the area
3.) Nearby Shopping destinations (Bicester Village?)
Many Thanks

Not close !
What are your kids ages??
Tour is wonderful , we were lucky enough to be there on the opening day . Guided section is only for the first part , then you do it at your own pace . Butter Beer is a little expensive but a must , the gift shop is VERY expensive0 -
I second that the tour is really good and I am sure that you will enjoy your day there.
Depends on the ages of your children but as you mention that they are young children they may enjoy a day at Paradise Wildlife Park which is about 30 minutes drive from Elstree. Legoland and Gullivers Land Theme Parks are about 40 minutes drive.
For shopping you are about 15 minutes drive from the Watford Harlequin Centre (which is not too far from The HP studios). If you want outlet stores there is the Galleria in Hatfield which would be 15-20 minutes drive from Elstree. Bicester is about 60+ miles from where you will be staying.
You could also park at the nearest train station and get the train into London to visit the Museums at South Kensington (Naural History and Scienceare both free entry) and go to Kensington Gardens for the children to play in the Peter Pan park.0 -
Thanks all
What about good restaurants / gastropubs close to the area we are staying in(Elstree) ?
Children are 18mths and 40 -

I like Moor Mill , take the A5 north towards Radlett , Mill is off on the left by the M25 ,
Or the Battle Axes , Letchworth Heath0
