Hi
My partner and I are looking at buying a house for between £150,000 and £200,000. However my partner had his old home reposessed 3 and a half years ago whilst with his ex-wife. He has paid rent for the past 3 and a half years and we have no debts apart from my student loan. We have a £25,000 deposit and was wondering what our chances are of getting a mortage? I would be the main name on the mortage. We have a combined income of £67,000.
Any advice would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks

Does your partner have debt from the repossession, also best to state individual salaries if you are the main person on the mortgage.0

There is no longer a CML reposession register, but as Big. states - if there is an unsatisfied shortfall, this will show negatively with CRAs - which will may well be a deal breaker on finding a lender.
Get a copy of your credit records and see whats recorded - "check my file" shows all 3 CRAs on one report, is free for 30 days and super easy to cancel - http://www.checkmyfile.com/
Hope this helps

Hi
My salary is £27,000 and my partners £40,000. He has no previous debts which he knows about (his ex kept all the details from him).
His credit rating is fair.
Cheers for the advice so far.0
