I also have an application with Nationwide, have just phoned them up, there is a 2 weeks' delay atm. Today they are dealing with applications submitted on August 8th.
  • So a bit more waiting then. I know it says online that they have instructed our valuation so at least something's being done!

We applied August 7th and are still waiting. Valuation has been done and approved.

for me the longest wait was between application and valuation.

    As i remember -
Tuesday Week 0 - Application submitted
Tuesday Week 2 - Valuation booked
Friday Week 3 - Valuation Conducted
Tuesday Week 4 - Confirmation of offer
Friday Week 4 - Written offer received.

As you can see Tuesday and Fridays were clearly my lucky days!!!

My FA told me this was quite a quick response for Nationwide at the moment and judging by other threads on here this is the case. They seem to have a backlog of work.

I know its hard to do because I was in the same position, but sit tight and try not worry too much!!

  • Well we're on week 1 we submitted last Wednesday so maybe Wednesday meet week will be lucky for us. I'm not a very patient person as you can tell!especially when I want to start house shopping but don't want to tempt fate!
  • Did they text you to let you know they were going to value the property or did you FA see it online?

They sent us text messages to let us know they'd received a satisfactory valuation report. This is actually our second application in a year because our chain stalled, our offer expired and we had to re-apply. It took 2.5 weeks in total the first time around, and that included a week where they had no one working between Xmas and NY. It's much slower at the moment and our broker says they are clearing a big backlog.
