Lidl Vegetables

May not be news to many people, but Lidl have great reductions on veg again. They frequently have half price periods at the Clapham Junction branch.

I tend to buy most of our veg there as the prices are unbeatable. Vine toms £1/Kg, cheap spinach, wild rocket, carrots etc. Most tend to be UK or Spanish produce and very tasty. I love the place and we cook healthy food on next to nothing.

Might be worth checking out if you have never shopped for food there,

Is it on all veg or just a selection? I know alot of people don't rate Lidl veg but I've had no problems with it being fresh and keeping a few days. We must be the first delivery.

pitsea store had close cup mushrooms for 54p, iceburg lettuce 39p, punnet of cherry toms 39p, celery 39p, 4 lemons in pk 14p, 10 oranges in pk 85p, bag of new potatoes 39p, cucumbers 39p
have to got there early though as it does sell out fast

i used to buy fruit and veg from lidl

but got fed up with half price

bin half cause it was rotten.................

my local Asda have some great bargins on fruit and veg

carrots 40p
sprouts 50p
parsnips 50p
spuds £1,
pineapple £1
the smart price apples, pears, banana's 78p each are great and they last

Almost everything is reduced form what I can remember. The veg is just as good as sainsburys/waitrose. We cook a lot of veg and can highly recommend:
spinach 59p, rocket 69p, broccoli 39p, celery 29p, toms 1.09, carrots 32p, lemons *4 29p kiwi fruit 8p & pears. The courgettes were a bit bitter though...

do watch out- Ive seen "reduced" icebergs for 70p well more than tescos waitrose et al

Great price reductions in Lidl Bletchley (MK) as well. Bought loads, including a huge cauliflower for 42p. Saw one of a similar size on sale in Sainsbury's for £1.49. :eek:

Never had any problems with Lidl fruit and veg. I love the pears (84p/kg), bananas (59p/kg) and Pink Lady apples (loose, £1.09/kg), which are really great.
