Red Letter Gift Experience Voucher

My husband was bought one of the purple Red Letter gift experience vouchers last August for a special birthday which a few friends clubbed together to buy. We both wrongly thought it was valid for a year so when we came back from our hols in June he phoned them to book it as he was going to do the racing car experience and book it some time in the Summer. However to his horror he found it had expired some 12 days earlier. He pleaded his case on the phone as we had just got back from holidaying abroad and it would have expired whilst we were away but they would not budge and pretty much said tough they cannot reschedule them. Although if he had called the day before expiry they would have extended it for him. We then wrote a letter hoping they would give him something just as a good will gesture bearing in mind his friends had paid £200 which was spent by them and no service provided. We wrote about a month ago and have heard nothing. Don't suppose we have a leg to stand on really but just wondered if there was anything else we could do or whether this has happened to anyone else and they have managed to get them to change their minds. My husband was obviously gutted at not being able to use it but equally feels very embarrassed and can't possibly let his friends know. Any ideas/suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.:o

The expiry date is on the pack you would have received, and it is your prerogative to book within that time period.0

Did you email them or write a letter.?
Try putting it in writing and sending recorded delivery. When you know they have it. Phone up and beg, sometimes if you catch the right assistant they`re very helpful...Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
I made this mistake once too. It was to do an indoor skydiving activity that my friend bought me for my 18th. Not £200, but still expensive. I ended up booking and paying myself in secret, then my friend came with me to watch me enjoy my 'present'. Still feel guilty that I wasted my friend's money, but I guess I still wouldn't have done the experience if she hadn't bought it for me in the first place, and it was really cool.
So maybe if you can afford it, book yourself in?0
