Thank you for so many replies.

Ok i have no contract, i was interviewed for one job at the school but didn't get this as they had someone more experienced at the interviews, but said they liked me that much that they offered me a casual spot to cover sickness.

I have no paperwork for this job, i get a phone call on the day asking if i can go in, 99% of the time i will, only once i have said no that i was unable to.

£10 a day, you can tell i was tired, but the math is still there, i'm on NMV for 2 - 2 1/2 hours a day.

But that isn't 5 days a week, its based on when they need me.

I don't want to not do or say anything until they are back, they took me on with my disability, this school is so fantastic for that, they have more than their fair share of disabled staff, it's what you can do that counts with them, they may have only given me a few hours work here and there, but they employed me, and gave me a sense of self worth to help me move on and have courage to job hunt for something more in what i was used to doing, i (corny as it sounds) owe them my future.

I guess giving a weeks notice when school is back up even if it sounds by what i have read on here not needed, is giving a bit of respect back.

Dancing fairy, its was just a case of i didn't want to write a letter and run, as i said above they have been so nice, i feel i owe them some respect, they even said that if a place became available it would be mine, but even part time(no full time there) because of the distance, i would not have money to live on, the fuel would take way too much of my wage.

where as the new job is 5 mins drive away up a hill.

Casual as and when on mutual agreement, no work since May.

No notices required but polite to notify you will not be available due to other comitments.

A nice letter/card thanking them for the opportunity, hand delivered would be a great gesture.

you never know when you might need work again

yes i wanted to give them a card, also as a thank you, they had all the staff sign my wedding card in June, a total surprise,

a letter and card it is, but will wait until school is back open, i know i don't have to but it's nice to say thank you when they have given me so much.
