Is there anything I can do with my used Epson cartridges?

I have cartridges from a printer, I had thought I could recycle them and even found on Tesco they'll give you 100 points per cartridge and thought this was great!...Until I saw the small print that stated they will not accept those by Epson.
I haven't found any other recycling opportunities elsewhere- unless your happy to pay the postage yourself and send them back to Epson who may/may not send you 1p per cartridge which when you take into consideration the postage fee, doesn't feel like a good deal to me...
Has anyone any other ideas?

Can you not do them on your roadside recycling. We can now do ink cartridges, that is unless of course you wanted to get money for recycling them in which case you might be better off with one of the other options suggested. If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................
Why practice!:T0 -
HP cartridges have the print head in them and are worth recycling as the head is good for several more uses at least. Epson printers have permanent heads in the printer, the cartridge is just a few pence of plastic with an ink soaked sponge in it. Most have a small electronic chip on them that records when the cartridge is empty. A recycler couldn't just refill them, they have to reprogram the chip or replace it - tricky.
You can get decent new Epson compatible cartridges for way less than a quid, I can't see how it would be worthwhile to dismantle, totally clean the cartridge, put a new sponge and ink in it, put a new chip and airseals & labels too. The only bit that is being recycled is a 5p bit of plastic.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -

So they are the only printer cartridges to work in this way? Being there are cartridges from Dell, Canon, Kodak....etc? Just seems a bit odd to me that Epson are the only brand where recycling is not a viable option yet it is an option with all the other brands.0
