Films for iPad

We are off on holiday next month, and I'm looking to have a selection of films stored on my iPad to entertain us during the journey, at times when we do not have access to Wifi. Is there any cheaper alternative to iTunes when downloading films for this purpose, or do they essentially have a monopoly on this?

Failing that, I do have access to an inexpensive generic tablet. Can you recommend the least expensive way to obtain local copies of films to watch using that?

I am not looking to break any laws in the process.

Thank you for looking in :)

You don't need to buy the films through iTunes. You can buy them elsewhere or rip from DVD and then convert them to the correct file type, then put them on the iPad. You'll be better off posting in the Tech Stuff board, I'm sure someone will know the easiest way to do this.
  • Thanks Humphrey - I wasn't sure that was a legal means of doing things. I will post over in tech.
