HBOS Card comes back to bite me...

Hi all, an old debt on a Hbos card has crept out from under a rock and bitten my butt. :mad: It's just been sold to Halifax and the last time I did anything with it was August 2007, since Hbos is a Scottish company does Scottish law apply or is it English law because I live in England. If scots I might be able to claim it's statute barred but if it's English then I'll have to find £1718.... Here's hoping someone knows the answer...:)
