Let me preface with the fact that i may not have this in the right forum, if so, my apologies, please feel free to move it as necessary.

Has anyone used them successfully without shipping complications?

I ordered a pair from them based on reviews i found in many places and was looking forward to getting them - I required a new and almost entirely different prescription and they are one of not very many places that does a prism correction.

I purchased the insured option with tracking and it has tracked at being in the International sort center in NYC since August 1,2012 I'm wondering if this is typical, complete fluke or major USPS screw up?

Customer service has been no help to me. I keep getting "sooner or later", "you should have a backup pair", "you'll get them eventually" and the real killer.......... "we don't issue refunds" At this point it's been since July 24th since I ordered them. I think I have a reasonable expectation of delivery within 30 days. I mean after all this is prescription eyeware. Its not a luxury its a necessity. I'm at the point of disputing this with my bank card for non receipt of purchased goods now due to the extremely poor service I have received.

So, has anyone else had this kind of issue with them or is this totally atypical?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not in the USA (i doubt anyone here is it's a UK site) BUT i have had this issue - i complained so much they sent replacement identical glasses - then both deliveries showed up.
I've placed ordered since that show up much quicker so there doesn't seem to be a logic to delivery times but they do consider it lost after 25 days so you should be able to get them moving on this if it's 30+ days.

As a side - if it take weeks to get to me in the UK i'd expect you to be 6-8 weeks for USA delivery - but it's worth asking for them to be resent either way, good luck :)
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
  • Try to call the USPS, they usually lost packages without any reason.

its not been 30 days yet. that said, it made it to the US the day after it left hong kong. its tracked as being processed through sorting within 12 hours of arriving in the US. that was the first, today is the 19th. i have never has anything take this long for an overseas shipment. I ship merchandise worldwide as a business woman and if i can ship from US to NZ in under a week via first class mail then i do not see 3 weeks for something to get here as reasonable

I bought two pairs of ray-bans prescription glasses from them in June and received them within a few days - no complaints from me
  • well its now sept. 10 and i still have nothing, not the original shipment or the replacement. further inquiry wiht USPS shows that no inquiry was ever made by selectspecs on the original shipment - they told me they had.

i have now concluded that this company is crap, disputed the charges with my bank and will tell anyone that asks what crap service they are

Non-designer glasses are made and despatched from Hong Kong. Delivery tends to take 2 to 3 weeks from despatch to the UK. I've placed several orders that have all arrived.

I suspect your problem is with USPS.

    This.

We've dispatched two packages to you now and you say that neither have been received, we believe either the USPS is at fault here or there is a discrepency with your address. Our service is not the problem as far as I can see.

We have logged all your messages and our management team are looking in to this, we will get back to you shortly regarding this matter.

  • This email refers to Order 235778 placed on 18 August which was for 2 pairs of glasses, one distance and one reading.

The glasses relating to Order 235778 were received on Friday 31 August but were the incorrect prescription. These glasses were returned to you by recorded delivery on Saturday 1 September after verification by our high street optician that the prescription was incorrect.

Can you please advise the current status of the incorrect order No 235778 whereby the glasses were returned to you, (have you received them?) are these now being refitted with the correct prescription lenses in both instances?

There were 2 separate orders placed by me 235644 (received yesterday and I am very pleased with the variofocals as I have been in past years when I have used your service). Because I placed 2 separate orders under my name it appears you have put my prescription in both orders. There are 2 distinct separate order numbers and it appears the error has been made by you as I have 'sent' emails relating to both orders with the correct prescriptions for each order attached

I look forward to this matter being resolved in a business like manner and receiving confirmation that the order 235778 is being correctly processed and will be received shortly. I would appreciate receiving a direct contact to liaise with instead of the usual 'automatic reply'. Nothing is being resolved and I am indeed very frustrated. We have paid for incorrect glasses which have been returned to you and there appears to be no satisfactory follow up.
