Halifax mortgage offer? How long?

Just wondered if anyone knew how long, on average it takes to receive Halifax mortgage offer? Our buyers have gone with them, the valuation was done on 31 July, so coming up to 3 weeks ago. We are going with nationwide and I've read and heard there is bit of backlog.
Any thoughts, it's tarken a while to get to this point and just wondering if have anything to worry!
