I did a shop in my local Tesco on Friday and bought a couple of cans of a drink reduced from £1.35 to £1.

I went out yesterday to another town and went to a Tesco Express and they were marked up at £1.35, but I decided to get one anyway. When I scanned it at the self-service till, it came up at the reduced price of £1.

But in general, retailers can vary pricing; evidently petrol stations do it (even in the same town), and sale prices usually have a rider like "previously £whatever at the wherever shop".

The offers in different location Tescos are not always the same, though the stores are the same size and type.

Recently (at similar stores in Warwick and Worcester) I have noticed that smoothies were £1 different in the offer price for two and had customer services check that an offer on nappies was on in my local as the offers are not nationwide. Prices on other items have also varied, though I cannot remember specifics other than "Yikes, that's expensive/cheaper here...". It's a pain, as I always have to check where to get things.

Coop in my town have no competition, so despite high unemployment in the area, we are in the highest price category. Small rural town in Wales, so so much for the Coop being ethical and into helping farming communities. To get cheaper prices we all need to drive 20 miles, so not at all enviromentally friendly policy, and expensive in fuel. No competition means they are s****ing us out here.

I have found that offers do vary. I made an offers shopping list from Morrisons' website and lots weren't available in my local store. Same with Budgen in the store near my mother.

As well as offers items stocked also vary for example a local city Sainsburys store dont stock a huge range of items compred to the 2 bigger out of town stores hence its a convenience type shop.

Some stores may stock local produce but stores at other end of the country just wouldn't be ranged for them.
