Thanks for the reply. Hoping that someone 'in the know' comes along soon to explain. I am quite worried now as I bought about 10 items in my shop today but didn't worry about comparables as I had wine and ketchup thus had two and assumed from their terms you only need one.....?!

You need one to compare to get the APG - if the APG compares zero items there would be nothing to give you back IYSWIM

The dispenser scans at 50p but then 50p is deducted at the bottom of the receipt, under multi buy savings...:)
Thank you ! I hadn't noticed that - so it does - wish I'd picked up 2 now - one for each sauce

yes I have a problem receipt from yesterday which i might send to A HQ for inspection.

It has 17 items on it
    cake mix
    galaxy cake bars
    cake bar
    white finger (rolls) x 2
    sub rolls
    soft drink
dog food - 6 differnet barcodes

The soft drink is £2 so it cant be a kiosk item. The dog food is all just "dog food" on the receipt but its not a multi buy.
So 13 items by my reckoning

i was sure I read it before as "8 items covered by the Asda Price Guarantee Scheme" rather than "8 different items"

There are lots of departments not included such as deli, electrical, homeware, george, kiosk (which includes all sandwiches/single pack crisps/sweets/drinks/etc)

In T it is genuinely as simple as 8 different items (or 7 different items and bag re-use ;)) but A is more complicated as you have to know the exclusions and even then sometihng might not count that should. That is why people go for 10/11 items just to be sure they have 8 qualifying ones

    be wary of the spam
mine didn't compare at the right price the other day
    £1 A and i thing it was either £1.56 or £1.59 T
this was dispite it clearly saying £1 T

didn't query as was an APG shop and didn't want to get too noticed

OOh, nearly forgot....Spam voucher people.....the small tins are exactly the same price(£1) in A & T so could be used with ketchup/wine as one of your eight .

Can someone please point me in the direction of that p&g competition. Is it still running? Hope thats the name for the competition

I dont know about a competition but there is a giveaway (every £1 spent on P&G earns 4 reward points which can be redeemed for gifts)

I bought two bottles of sauce and got two 'free' dispensers. The sign in store read one free with each bottle purchased. :):)

Oh?! I bought six wine and 2 ketchup plus other stuff.... £40 spend, should get at least £25 back. Have I done wrong?

It depends on your store and how brave you are. You are not actually doing anything wrong but maybe next time just do 3 wines or 3 wines and a ketchup

Till boy said the biggest he had seen was a £13 one so APGs over £10 are not unusual.

  • Hello all,
I stumbled across your wonderful thread a few days ago and have enjoyed reading all about your fab savings - although I'm still a bit confused, I went to Asda today and am now nervously waiting to put in my reciept details. Fingers crossed I've done it right!
