Well, by the time I added additional extras and added an excess waiver the policy came to £72.63. However I noticed that winter sports was included in the cover and I didn't want that so I called them....

    So it went like this...

Me: I want an insurance quote please, I want the XXX policy with such and such, such and such and excess waiver.

Her: That will be £72.63 sir.

Me: I notice that winter sports is covered, I don't want winter sports.

    Her: It's free sir

Me: I don't want it though, I don't think there will be much in the way of winter sports in Madagascar..

Her: *laughing her head off* very nice sir but it is free so it won't make a difference.

Then we went through all the medical questions answering no to them all

Her: Are there any other medical conditions that you would like to declare?

Me: Ummm, Autism, would I need to let you know about that?

Her: 1 minute sir, I'll need to check with someone....

    *waiting*

Her: Just a couple of questions sir, Will you be travelling alone?

    Me: No.

Her: Has your Autism ever caused you to act violently at all?

Me: Errrr, errrr, not for a while..

Her: Would you like me to answer yes or no to that?

    Me: Yes.

Her: We can insure your Autism for a further £49.XX

Me: Nah, just exclude it, it's not going to effect the trip, I just wanted to declare it and be honest about it.

Her: Thank you very much sir, one last question, will you be partaking in anything dangerous?

Me: Flying there, well it is Air France you know, they don't seem to have a good track record of keeping them in the sky.

    Her: *fits of laughter*.

Hi HC have you tried Virgin? I used them this year and for 2 weeks it only cost me £10 for 6 of us ( medical only )

Pretty sure their Credit Cards and what not is underwritten by MBNA and we avoid anything MBNA at all costs. Wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire.

Please tell me I've not missed anything.

Just about to go do some serious catching up.

Quick question.. has anyone ever been a bit cheeky and handed a conditional spend over to be taken off their shopping before MOCs?

Cheeky ? Thats not how I define cheeky - I thought we ALL gave over conditionals first, using the biggest one first and making sure there is still a big enough balance to use the next one! If I didn't do that, all my conditionals would go to waste.
