Is thier a way of finding out when a loan runs out?

I brought a sofa about 2 years ago and it was a 2 year contract but I have a feeling (Such a bad memory) I didn't start paying off the loan till the sofa arrived and it was a long delivery ....I remember him asking cant remember my reply

Is thier an easy way of finding out how many payments I have left? I thought about ringing dfs but the loan is outsorced I belive and its ending in next 1-3 months I just would like to know :A

What does your copy of the loan agreement say?

Who does the direct debit get paid to? Ring them.

I thought DFS loans were always four years.

maybe check your bank statement and then you will find out when you started paying.
  • Or get a copy of your credit report and see how much is outstanding as hopefully outstanding divided by monthly payment should give a good indication of what is left, but remember they don't update credit reports instantly so it might be a month out.

Debt now 3000, but PPI payment that covers this and more in the way. :j

Lost/Dont have my contract unfortunatly...cant see credit report as I have already used it once and they will charge me £15 if i log back in...nice of them.

I did have option of 4 years, perhaps this is what most people go for but I didn't like the idea of paying for something over 4 years when I could easily afford it over 2 years although 4 years was still interest free :p

Have had a new bank since I started paying so I cant go check back on my bank statements either...

Oh well I guess I'll just wait it out, if Im still paying by november time I might chase it up... thanks for help anyway.

Who do you pay? It must say on a bank statement, so just give them a call, give them your details and they should be able to tell you.

Presumably you used it for free last time? That was nice of them too. ;)

That aside, you can order a statutory copy of your report(s) for only £2, which will probably show your loan agreement as number of months x amount, ie "24 x £56" or 36 x £35" which should give you an indication (at least of the year!) when it ends. Even better if it shows amount currently outstanding.

Don't know if it is the same company but I pay my DFS payments to savvi (brand name of hitachi capital) It is fairly easy to log on if you know your address and your agreement number will be the reference number on your DD.

If you cant get past the automatic system give them a call. they are fairly helpful and the websit will tell you all you need to know.
