Well I'm not officially there yet, but the end is so near I can't help sharing.
I started a DMP with CCCS after a light bulb moment back at Christmas 2007/8. One of the reasons I lurked in these forums rather than signing up and posting was I was embarrassed by how much I'd messed up. In fact I'd messed up to the tune of over £70,000 all on loans and credit cards when I had my LBM.
But now my only debt is not defaulted and is at just over £3,000 and I've signed an acceptance letter for a PPI refund offer that will cover that and a small bit more so am waiting for the cheque from that. Once that's cleared I can't wait to make that phone call to pay off the last one.
Despite not posting I've read many posts on the forum over the years of my DMP and the advice some of you have given to others on the forum has also been relevant to me and I just want to say thank you and let you know that sometimes your posts are also doing good that you don't immediately know about.
I also have to comment how much CCCS helped me especially at the start of my DMP when I thought the world was ending and in this final year where they were very supportive of me taking control of my own finances again.
You've all helped me do what I once though was impossible and I've escaped from that never ending spiral of minimum payments and consolidation loans and in a shorter time than I ever imagined was possible.
THANK YOU!!!
