Hi all,
Just wanted some advice.
Began the process with the ace help of L & C of remortgaging our house so we could get extra funds to build an extension, L & C promptly found a mortgage with scottish widows with legal help from withy king only for it to fall thru due to adverse credit so the ball as you can imagine had hardly moved before we had to cancel it.
L & C have now found us a new deal with Abbey and changed our legal help to Enact.
Now the problem!
However, this morning I received a letter from Withy King wanting £48.13 for fees. 1) it was out of hands that we had to change them and 2) I cannot understand how they can charge this when they have done relatively nowt!!
Any help or suggestions would be brill

£48.13 from a legal firm probably relates to a single telephone conversation or putting your name at the top of a piece of paper!
That said have you signed anything with L&C or Withy King agreeing to pay fees? If not then they wouldn't have a case.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for you reply Silvercar.
I have since spoken to my mortgage adviser Kenny Burns (he is ace!!):A at London & Country (they are brill!!) about it and he contacted Withy King on my behalf and explained the situation, basically that it was the lenders that pulled out and not ourselves and they have decided to waiver the fee.
What a beautiul day!!
Just for an L & C plug, they are just in the process of sorting out my remortgage for me and Kenny Burns has been the best:A , I am not the sharpest knife in the box and he has explained everything so I can understand it without being patronising and is the most polite pleasant fellow that I have had my good fortune to come across, and all for free!!:T0 -
Did you disclose the adverse credit to the broker? Its hardly the solicitors fault if you didnt.I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0
