weddings insurance with an expensive marquee?

Hi,
I'm getting married next month and just had the replacement value of the marquee for our ceremony/reception confirmed at £78k. This is well in excess of the standard cover available from most weddings insurers - does anyone have any recommendations for insurers who would be able to cover this kind of thing?
The hire company recommended Covermarque (marqueeinsurance.co.uk), and I've had a quote back from events-insurance.co.uk - just wondering if anyone has any feedback on either company, or any other recommendations? (both are looking super expensive, although granted cheaper than £78k if anything did go wrong).
Thanks!
Andy

Are you sure it is not covered already? Our marquee has seperate insurance with hire company.:T0

Yeah, we didn't need to worry about insuring the marquee in that way, that was included in the price of hire. We just had to insure against the cost of hiring an alternate marquee if that one folded etc...0

Surely the company you're hiring the marquee from has it covered for damages etc under their own insurance. It's not like you are buying the marquee.
As idio says all you'd need is insurance to cover you incase the company goes under, or you have to cancel/postpone your wedding. Not to replace the marquee should something happen to it.0 -
Oh, I should mention, also...The place I hired mine from had a requirement that the marquee be secured overnight...Which I guess is a reasonable request from their insurers...Which means that we either had to get people to stay in the marquee overnight (on the days it was up before the wedding day) or pay for professional security guards - it was something like £600/night they quoted for professionals, so we got some wonderful friends to stay in there for a couple of nights...0

Thanks for the replies. The only protection they provide is a damage waiver, which indemnifies us against any costs arising from accidental damage. They have recommended a dedicated insurance policy to cover deliberate damage (e.g. arson, theft), which is not covered by this waiver.0

Really? That seems a bit odd to me. Surely they have it covered in transit, in their warehouse etc. seems weird to just extend the accidental damage waver, but not anything else. They must have insurance to transport it- what happens if they get ambushed by pirates! :rotfl:
Sorry, I can't really help- mine is covered.:T0 -
I guess it would come down to how much they are charging for the hire of their marquee, how much you can get the insurance for, and compare this to how much it'd cost to hire it from another company.0

I've had a look at companies offering similar styles of tents, and they all seem to operate the same kind of policy (tents your responsibility, have to take damage waiver or show proof of insurance, etc). Does seem weird, but given the prices I'm being quoted I can only assume it would be astonishingly expensive for them to provide a full insurance for all hires as standard - seems that almost all weddings insurers assume the marquee will be worth £50k or less, and after that you're into the territory of events insurance..0

Have you called any of the insurance companies to talk it through? they might know something we don't...0
