Money for Wedding present - how much?

Hi everyone, thanks for reading this - just after a wee bit of advice really.
Hubby and I are going to an all day wedding tomorrow, an old friend of hubby's and I'm just wondering how much money we should put in their card?
I don't want to seem like a cheapskate but I don't have much to spare either lol
A present is out as they have lived together for donkeys
Thanks in advance

Hello,
We got married about 4 weeks ago and most people gave us £20-30.
Hope that helpsWeight loss 2015: -4lbs January (thanks flu):wall:

We tend to give £30-50 depending on how well we know the couple, how much we've had to pay to get to the wedding/hotel cost and whether we've both been invited or not.
Although when I said the amount we tend to give at work my colleagues thought I was generous and said they give £10-25
I think the couple will be grateful for anything and not perturbed if you didn't give anything. That as certainly our attitude after our wedding.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Thanks very much for the advice :-)
My hubby thought 40 but I thought that was a bit much so we'll go with £30 - my girls have a little horse shoe for the bride too which I hope she likes.
No travel costs Or hotel to stay at so that's a plus.
Thanks again
J

You could make a quick and easy hamper with champagne glasses and bottle of bubbly, chocolates and candles - That could be done for less than £30 and is romantic.Plan to PAD Everyday 2026Credit Card - £2864.24 int free to 31/05/26) -PAD TotalsJan 2026 - £277.72Feb 2026 - £40.57 11.11% paid!0
