Hi,

hope I can maybe clear things up for everyone. I work in Iceland.
The new bonus card is NOT a points card. The info on the receipt that states your balance will be added in 48hours is for if you decide to use it as a savings card. It will eventually replace the old savings stamps. So if for instance you spend 6.00 and hand over a tenner you can request that the change be added to your card, giving you £4 in savings (your balance)
We are now issuing till splits, mostly £1 off a £10 pound shop,
£2 of a £20 shop and £3 off £30. These are to be used before 12th Oct. There are also money off coupons although I haven't seen any yet so cant say what they are.
Bosses are telling us that the vouchers will be given in line with what you buy so they are more useful and more chance of you using them.
Also noticed that there will be vouchers giving things like a free kids cinema ticket (when purchasing an adult ticket) free Greggs hot drink and something from Blockbuster but I cant remember what it is!!
The bonus card still works as your delivery card too.

I don't see the point of the bonus card at all.

Not as if there were loyalty points from your shopping.

I think it's just their way of monitoring our shopping habits.

then dont use one ! ive had vouchers sent by post £5 off a £40 spend but if you dont want to save money then thats your choice.

i dont see the point in a boots card so i havent got one ,simple as.

They sent me a new card and 2 fobs recently.

I hardly go in Iceland these days as there are usually dreadful queues!!

Very occasionally they send out a mailing with new product information / promotions / vouchers etc.

yes we have been using the cards in this way for a while now as we live in the "test" area for them. You can basically ut money onto your card now instead of buying the stamps and you get till spits for money off restaurants, dvd's, money off items in the store and money off a certain spend.

wow that does seem as the nice cashiers say worth it now to use
