School uniform - where to buy?

Dear all.
My dd is starting reception this year. I am totally lost and confused about where to buy the uniforms from. I've been reading on forums, and I gathered that sainsburys and m&s have good quality stuff.
Is it wise to buy everything from one of these or should I get bits from everywhere?
Also, I see good pinafores in bhs. How's bhs uniform's quality?
Pls helppppp!

I work with 5/6yr old children. Whatever you buy for your daughter check that she can easily do up the buttons, zips, poppers etc. You'd be surprised how many children cannot get themselves dressed/undressed for PE as many clothes suppliers (and parents!) seem to put fashion first or the parents have always dressed them. Oh, and make sure that everything is clearly labelled - PE kit, shoes, clothes, the lot!!0

Oh yes, labels....
Where to get them from? What's the best way to label? There is more to life than increasing its speed.0 -
labels - you can pick up iron on labels but my personal opinion is there not 100% brilliant, what I did / do I ordered personised sew in labels from ebay, theres plebty of designs
as your little'un is in nursery I would say get a label that is not joined up letters.
When you sew in label in clothes, sew in 2, I put one in the back collar area, and the 2nd upside a seam, it just that if an item went astray!! the 1st label to be cut is the one at the back of the neck, - hense the 2nd one. Once dd has grown out of that label it gets unpicked and sown into the next item.
Pumps, trainers, I write with pen,
As rowansway said, - simple items as a lot of children can't tie laces, struggle with buttons, and zips.
xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Oh yes, laces ... never, ever send them to school with laces they cannot do up themselves!!!
Labels - the sew in ones are the best, we usually check first for the name at the back of the neck and then look to see if there is one on the washing instructions. If you use pen just check every now and again to make sure it hasn't faded. Do make sure that shoes are labelled - many children have identical shoes from a well known High Street shop. As for clothing itself, don't spend a lot on each item, some of it will end up with glue/paint on (even though we use aprons!). Also, check at your local school - sometimes they sell lost property off very cheaply - and you'd be surprised how much of it is virtually brand new (and un-named!!).0 -
I started off buying marks, then sainsbury's but now I buy ASDA. I haven't had any problem with ASDA uniform. (Nor did I have problems with the others)0

if you can't get any labels sorted in time for school, I was in Wilkinsons earlier, and they had a pen that you can write on labels under £1.00xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
