Pop socks - help please

Are there any pop socks around that don't have a grip-the-leg-as-tight-as possible top?!!!
These things only seem to come in one size fits all and I have large feet and legs, and some are downright painful and leave a ridge around the calf. The only time I wear them is for evening wear under trousers with smart shoes (and I do not want to wear tights!)
I am looking for neutral shades- to wear under light coloured trousers.
Help please!

  • I think my mum used to wear kind of ankle socks instead of pop socks as she had the same problem...was it Silkies that made them? I'll have a mooch and see if I can find them!

  • She thinks it was Silkies, she bought them from a catalogue but they probably have a UK distributor :)

I also wear the ankle type, from M&S or Tesco.

A quick Google throws up a few possibilities, including previous MSE threads.

Evans sell pop socks which are bigger than normal as they cater for the larger lady.

Or you could try footsies, which just cover the bit of the foot inside the shoe.

Found some silkies at Boyes, and yes, thank you, they are ideal. Will also look in Evans when I next am near.
    Problem solved. Many thanks.

Incidentally I don't think footsies would work because again they tend to be one size, or more precisely not my size!!

  • I found these...

They do extra roomy fit and soft hold tops. I haven`t tried them so can`t say how good they are.
