I'm not holding out much hope for this so I can see meself getting married in a baseball cap :D

I've looked on the interweb but it seems that small hairdressers don't have websites so I was looking for a recomendation

  • This guy used to be a mobile hairdresser in Whitehaven.

Unfortunately there was no demand for his services and he had to branch out.

:rotfl: at fairenoughclough, even though it wasn't very helpful!

Who do you know in Whitehaven? I'd ask them, rather than us ... Even if you only know chaps there, they must have mothers / wives / girlfriends (apart from you, that is!) Or the hotel might be able to provide a recommendation ... Or write a letter to the local paper?

I'm sure we can do better than a baseball cap - if I knew how to do pictures I'd find a picture of a burkha (I think that's what I mean, those head to floor jobs with a slit for the eyes ...) :D
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • why don't you try and see if anyone can help you out on FavourXchange.com? There are quite a few hairdressers registered I think...

All the best for your big day!

I don't know anyone there, we live a couple of hours away. We're getting married there because it's a nice place, I could ask the venue if they have any recommendations.

It may just come to a burkha if I don't find someone :D

Thanks for that link savesomemoney, what a great idea! I'll add that to my faves.

Do you still need a hairdresser? My sister-in-law lives in Whitehaven and I can ask her who she uses.

    Yes please!!!!!

That would be brilliant, otherwise I'll end up picking someone randomly out of the phone book :)

I have spoken to her and she gets her hair done in Workington! But she said that Winstons has a good reputation. I actually get my hair done at Winstons in Cockermouth and they did my wedding hair. They are a young salon. I don't know whether someone will come to your hotel though.

Let me know if I can be any further help.

Thanks ever so much for that

Hopefully we'll be going up to Whitehaven to finalise the wedding stuff soon (in a month or so) so I'll have a nosey at that place. I was dreading phoning somewhere only to find it was run by an 80yr old called Doreen who would attack me with the perming curlers :D

'Young' is just what I need ;)

Oh, and we're not getting married until 4.30pm so I can drive over to the salon, I sort of forgot that I can drive  :)
