I've done my sums...

And it looks like I'll be debt free in January
I'm not sure how to do the thing at the bottom of posts, you know where you do a countdown list thingy, perhaps someone can show me
This time last year, my debts were over £19k.
I have now managed to get them down to £7k exactly, and could not have done it without my gorgeous girl, thank you darling xxx
It might even be sooner if my PPI claims come through. I've already had one result there, and expecting at least two more to come through.
Only thing I don't understand is that my credit ratings are ranging from ''fair'' (Equifax) to ''very poor'' (Experian).
Roll on January

Have you closed the accounts which have been paid? It could be that you have a high amount of credit.
Saying that, each lender judges differently so I wouldn't worry too much about the credit report judgements - it is more important that you pay off at least the minimum on time, and close accounts.:rotfl:0 -

Hi Elle,
Two of the accounts were loans, car purchase and a home improvement. Once they were paid, the accounts were closed.
The rest was/is credit cards. I done a BT for my Cap One to a 2% deal with JLPC, which wiped that out, but since then, the money I've not been paying Cap one has gone straight onto my JLPC
The other is Barclaycard. I used my result from my PPI claim to snowball that, plus some money I had saved.
As a result, both are now at £3500 each.
Getting there slowly but surelyLife is now good0 -
Great progress in a year - well done and what are you going to do in Jan with all that extra cash?

March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -

Haha, not sure yet Downsizer, I'm paying £1000 a month just now, so it is going to be a lot of spare money I'll have
I'll probably save some and treat us both when it's all paid offLife is now good0 -
Looks like I'll be debt free a wee bit sooner than expected...

Just had another look at the figures.

Go to the top of the page where, on the green banner, it says "User CP". Click on it and on the next page on the left you will find "Edit your signature". Write anything your wish in there and save it. It will appear at the bottom of your posts and you can alter the info any time you want.
Good luck on being debt free by Christmas. I can't explain the feeling but it's a good one. I still marvel at being debt free and I should be used to it by now :rotfl:LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012
