Is it safe ? Now someone has all contact numbers which can be used to send premium texts at £1.50 per text. I am saying this because I had the problem a year back and no amount of complaints to Orange were heard. I got about 6 such texts (something like PSP for 4pence ....) and cost me £9. Dont know how they got my number as it was a brand new contract phone...
I think I'll stick to my own ways :
    1. I have a SIM reader that has all my contacts stored on a SIM card
    2. I connect my 6230i phone to my PC every month and update the contacts in the MS Outlook express phone book.

The site only asks for the first 8 digits of the IMEI number so I wouldnt be too worried.
