i am so stressed about this!! 3 missed credit card payments!!

Options
hello all,

i had (or so i thought) a credit card with Tescos. i cleared the amount, infact i was £27 in credit with them!!

im in the middle of applying for a mortgage, i ordered a credit report from equifax + my credit report was good! this report was sent off for the application....

HOWEVER!!... i forgot to cancel my report with equifax + since have been getting charged for reports that i did not want nor need!!

i used to bank online with tescos, never missed a payment. they would always send me an email telling me that a statement was through, however, they havent sent an email sice May. I thought that because i was in credit my account was ok. i genuinely forgot about that equifax thing!!

my mortgage application has been sent off a few weeks prior to all this kicking off. i hav now cleared my cc with tescos, have cancelled my account + have cancelled equifax. this was an honest mistake, will it effect my mortgage application??

i was turned down for another mortgage a few weeks ago (ulster bank) due to my tax credits being cut this year...

total stressed!!!!!:(

Depends who your applying with but quite possibly yes.
Its quite a low amount but quite a high number of late payments in the last 12 months. You might be able to get it overturned on appeal but it will have an affect yes.

Why did tesco not send you your bill if money was due?

I would contact tesco and ask why and tell them that because of this your credit rating has been effected.

I had problems with tesco. I set up a DD to pay my bill when I opened the account. Got confirmation of the DD from my bank about a week later. But tesco take around 17 working days to set it up there end! So because of bank holidays my first payment was missed. I realised a week later and paid it. I called them but got no help and was just told it was my fault as its in their T&Cs and my responsible to ensure its paid. So I wrote a letter accepted responsibility and generally grovelling and although I got no reply, the late payment fee was refunded and my credit rating wasnt affected.

Don't know if that's any help.

    than you for the replies...

tecos had sent me my statements online, howeveer, because i thought my account was cleared + they hadnt sent me any emails, it never even occured to me to check my account because i thought it was ok. im going to write a letter of formal complaint as i am not happy with this at all.

this can have a severe impact on my credit rating!!

I received no email to say my payment was missed or that fee had been charged. It wasn't until the next statement that I noticed I had been charged. I have been very unhappy with tesco CC too. Once the interest free period is up I'll be closing the account.

Tescos told me that they sent out a letter to me saying that the online system had changed and they had asked everyone to respond + thats why i havent receibed my emas from them. Im still not happy about this!! Im going to write a letter of complaint because i feel that they still should have emailed me about my latest statement and recent charges. I also want them.to lift the missed payment... because it will have an impact on my application for mortgage :-(
