in Credit cards
last year i did a BT to halifax, set up direct debit on receiving card, direct debit for first payment was not collected, i received letter from halifax regarding missed payment, i phoned them up explained i had set up DD had my £12 fee returned and thought no more about it.
Then i saw a similar thread on here so i checked my credit report which is showing a nasty RED 'up to one month late' marker.
Would it be worth asking halifax to remove the marker? It seems a bit harsh under the circumstances?
Is the bank in the wrong or am i to blame for not making sure payment was collected?

Agree it's a bit harsh especially as refunding you puts the blame on themselves drop them a line and argue the case.0 -

Were you warned on the paperwork/over the phone last year that the DD might not be set up in time, and so you should pay by other means until the statement said the DD was active? My (educated, based on my own Halifax dealings) guess is you were. If that is the case then it weakens your argument somewhat.0 -
It is technicaly correct, but worth an argueDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
