school socks for 10 yr old with size 7 feet!

Options
My 10 yr old daughter is 5ft 3in, ladies size 10 and has size 7 feet. Over the years I have spent a fortune kitting her out to find she has grown just weeks later. I can get shoes in Clarks (thank god), Sainsburys do smart black trousers and white shirts in their basic ladies work ranges however I am totally stumped finding size 7+ cheap knee high white or grey socks for her primary school.I have tried typing in ladies school socks into the iternet but the suggestions are highly unsuitable for a 10 year old! :rotfl:Anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried Primark or BHS somewhere like that?

If she wears trouses could she not wear ankle socks? My dd will only wear ankle socks and trouses so she has the black womens soft touch from Mr Ts.

I will try this thank you- she does wear trousers during the winter months - I blame myself, I have size 9s and am 6ft; she did not have a chance!

Seriously, if she's that tall for her age I'd be keeping her out of knee socks altogether. My DD is also 10, 5'2", size 8 and shoe size 5 and she's starting to look just a little odd in knee high white socks and the standard school skirt, like a grown woman dressing up for a slightly risque party. Fortunately she doesn't much like skirts and prefers to wear school trousers and plain black lace up shoes all year round so we go with this, with white ankle socks in summer and black knee-high thick socks in winter.

I'm 5'4" tall btw. She doesn't get her height from me, that's for certain!

  • George at Asda used to do a range of 6-8 ladies socks but haven't checked for a while. I used to get these even though I was a 7 because sometimes they come up a bit small on the 4-7 range and the 6-8 just gave that bit more room.
