hope you dont mind me adding:
Why would we only make a three claw ring (see picture on our Focus on Platinum Week post) in platinum and not in 18ct white gold?

WHY BUY PLATINUM? (from your local jeweller's perspective)

    1. It is extremely hard wearing and therefore won't wear thin like gold alloys do over time.
    2. It gives you more design scope as your stones are more secure in a platinum setting allowing you to have less volume of metal in the design if you wish.
    2. It's a nice white colour and doesn't need rhodium plating like most high street white gold does.
    3. It is almost pure (95%) so it is great for sensitive skinned people.
    4. It is the most dense of the precious metal so feels significant compared to gold alloys.
    5. It is very rare so represents something special.
    6. It seems to retain its value over time so it is a good financial investment as well as a great practical choice for a piece of jewellery.
