Just about to email them now with my V5 attached to state it is my car etc (through my mum's email). Would anyone recommend that I attach the letter also to the email (I have a copy here to scan) that my mum sent yesterday afternoon? Then they have at least got a copy and can't say we didn't get it in the post as my mum will have an email proof though it would be a good idea perhaps....0

yes send them a copy of the letter your mum sent in post
put on it and by royal Mail (date of posting)I am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

Done that but only just got back to this forum to see you had said about putting on it by Royal mail and the date of posting did state it was yesterday afternoon so they will gather from the date on the letter and me saying hopefully.
Hope this won't cause an issue but they have been emailed at least about the whole car issue and asking them to send it to my mum in writing about it being removed from the levy form. Told them to check the DVLA etc and stated about my mum not even having a license and have never even drove or owned a car!
Feel a bit relieved at least sending the email have to wait and see if they get back to us. Bailiffs haven't been back today (so far) car is up the drive away and behind gates - they would probably have trouble getting it out anyway I live in a small Cul-de-sack and my neighbors across the road have 4 cars with 2 big ones all along the opposite pavement! it's impossible to get large vehicles up here0 -
it should be ok now they have the V5 if they ask you send them a copy of your car insurance
tell them that you will not be sending it as it does not confirm who owns the car only who insures and you have already sent a copy of the V5 and again ask them to remove the car from the levy including associated fees and that you will not be corresponding further on the matter but will make a Formal complaint to the CEO of the council regarding the matter
Now that you have set up an e-mail address for your mum e-mail the revenues department and ask
1 - how many Liability Orders they have against you
2 - the dates they were obtained
3 - the addresses they were for
4 - the period of time each covers
5 - how much each one was for
6 - how much is still outstanding
7 - the dates they were passed on for enforcementI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

Would this be my local council I would find their email address online to ask them this? Should I also ask for this in writing? Or an email response?
I am trying to help my mum out as much as i can with this as she's got so much on her plate trying to look after her elder parents and deal with debts - most she has covered and pays monthly but this has popped up now so i try to help the best i can and also appreciate your help so much
so thanks again! 0 -

you e-mail the council the debt relates to
yes ask for reply by e-mail
put the council ref number on the e-mail (it should be on the notice of seizure
mum can pay on-line to the council the debt relates to using the council tax ref no
you are doing very well don't let you mum or you be intimidated by the bailiffs I'm sure you have read enough to know legally you don't have to let them into the house (you must keep your door locked and windows closed)
If you have a mobile phone that records calls and Videos then use it to video the bailiff if/when he comes back
bailiffs work by threats and intimidation and they cant get a locksmith ,police, or committal to prison
you may want to join this group as well (i also post on this forum ) there are a lot of experts on it and they may pick up on something i have missed

Yes I have read all my rights on the .gov website (printed them off in the end) have made sure all doors are locked at the moment and they have no chance of getting through our windows they are them tiny rectangle ones at the top - i highly doubt they would bother trying we also live in a bungalow and the windows are very high up need a ladder at least. We have a dog also he protects us
he's kind but his bark tends to scare people.
My friend came and sat with me this morning also to back me up if they did return and in case they tried to force or do anything he would be there and i guess a witness - said he would come back each morning while i need him to while we are off university and when not working.
I found the email for my mum's 'council tax administration' and thought that was probably the place to email. Thing is because she was paying two households of council tax won't they both have different references? The bailiff notice also has an our ref and a client ref - I'm guessing the client would be related to the council tax then and i should put that on the email?
Thanks for the other forum also will take a look and read up have been doing the past two days seeing other peoples experiences with them and what they have done and dealt with.0 -

yes they will

thats the one you use client ref relates to the debt they are collecting you should use both ref Numbers in any complaint letters-email
the e-mail about the debt, amount ,dates ect, should only need the council refI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

you could have a platoon of soldiers there and he would still deny doing /saying anything that he should not councils tend to believe the bailiff unless there is recorded proof
do not answer the door to him/her (the women are worse than the men) you/your mum do not have to speak to themI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites

I wouldn't have answered the door again to them but would have today probably had to have gone out if they had turned up to state about the car as knowing them I wouldn't have answered the door and they probably would of had the car removed.
Didn't think having anyone here would make a difference but least i felt better with someone here since my mum wasn't around. Have sent an email to the council anyway and should hear from them in the next few days but have stated i need it asap.
And it was a women she wasn't aggressive towards me when i answered the door to her - didn't even realise until i looked up and saw a white van with a man also in and it clicked. The house next door is being done up and we have white vans there all the time so i wouldn't have even thought looking out the window and think don't answer.
Least i feel like i have done some part in helping and getting answers from the council and asking the bailiffs to remove the car from the levy.
Again thank you for your guidance
