Certified Copy of Passport

Hello,
Not sure if I'm asking in the correct section here...
I have to supply a certified copy of my passport to my employer and I was wondering where I can get this done? I've used certified copies of birth certificates for visa's in the past, but I'm not sure where I can go about getting this done in the UK.
Thanks for the help!

Can you give them the original one and let them take a photocopy?0

The Post Office. Match bettors have to have this done all the time

I had to get one the other day for a new bank account. I photocopied my passport, then went to the nearest solicitors and they stamped it no problem. And I was a stranger off the street. Do take the original with you too.
Hope this helps!

Is it a job in financial services by any chance? If so, take it along to your local branch and they can do a certified copy for you. Some banks (I know Natwest do) will do this for their customers anyway, whatever the reason.0

I would have thought that'd be the easiest thing to do as well - why should the employee have to pay to get it done?0 -
Maybe HR is 100 miles away from where the employee is actually going to work?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Then a copy witnessed by another reliable person in the company should suffice??
HR aren't the be all and end all of a company - even though they might think they are.

Sparked a bit of a debate there didn't I!
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. Postoffice looks like the easiest option.
I love red tape in the UK!0
