re-house splitting in 2

Options
Hi Guys, it,s me again, a little bit more to my daughters saga, which I would appreciate any advice at all.
Long dispute between my daughter and partner, relationship, dead on her behalf, he won,t let go, lost the plot now;
They live together in a 3 bed semi,which belonged to my daughter,originally, rented,(council) after he kicked her and 2 kids, 1 his, from,his other house.12 years ago.
Since then, they made up, bought it, £32k, remortgaged twice to £114k, interest only mortgage, he stopped endowment, and used it all on spanish property, which I will omit for now;failed;owing more money on another mortgage.
She,s 50 tomorrow, and 2 weeks ago, they put it on the market for £140k, she just wants out, debt free, he signed, reluctantly.
Then last friday she went to Venice, for 4 days with her new chap, told her oh,who flipped,(as usual), and came back yesterday, only to find he has divided the house into 2 dwellings, bricking up doorways, etc, forcing my daughter to live upstairs, no kitchen, no washing machine, no heating, only the bathroom to use for washing, water, no cooker,(micro).etc.
Now we all know this is bonkers, he,s just gone OTT, in fact, in my mind, he wants sectioning;
I,m trying to arrange a cab and free half hour solicitor meeting.
Phoned council, they said he was breaching several building /fire rules etc, wanted address, which I witheld till I get more info.
I think the mortgage company/council/solicitor should be informed, although a solicitor will have a field day with it, and take forever;running up a very large bill.It,s now affecting her health, and all the family.espescially us in our 70,s
Any advice, help, as to which moves to do first would be appreciated. Jeremy Kyle couldn,t think it up;
My choice would be to demolish the walls with a sledge hammer, it,s her house too, which he has now made unsaleable.
Sorry it,s so long, but this is only part of it;12 months it,s been going on so far.:beer:

    This sounds pretty serious, and needs resolving pronto, given the circumstances, I would forget about the CAB, and "free" solicitors, you/she will likely need to spend some serious money to get this resolved, before somebody gets hurt (either physically or mentally)

    Hi WhO, Thanks for reply, as you say, it,s gone too far.

    That,s how things escalate;
    She,s coming tonight, so I,m trying to get as much advice as possible today, to give her a fete acomple'( think that,s right?), when you say serious money , I presume you mean paid for solicitor? I want her to notify the council and mortgage company of what he,s done, and seek legal, paid for advice.The council/mortgage company will act faster than any solicitor first, + I want her out, he,s breached the mortgage by cancelling the endowment policy, it,s going to be repoed anyway, by the looks of it.
  • For sure he should seek retrospective planning permission from the council.

    Hi Guys Thanks for replies, Daughter came last night and I gave her all the numbers of local solicitor, but first, I told her to notify the council and Santander, mortgage lender, he,s in breach of both, and several others.Hoping she.ll do it today, on her 50th, I told her to knock it down, even offered to do it, with her permission, but she declined.
    I,ve already paid £24k and given her a car, to clear, cc debts in her name, to allow the sale to proceed, 2 charges were on, which I had removed.He used the cc,s on his spanish enterprises.Should have probably let her go BR, considered it;
    He,s never paida stamp/taxes in his life, I cannot understand how he carries onducking and diving, and getting away with it,.
    Now I hope he gets his comeuppance;:beer:

    Before she contacts the lender/council etc, she should speak to a solictor, the council or lender, may immediately start proceedings to rectify the work, which could end up costing '000's in legal costs etc. so probably best to keep her head down until she has confirmed her legal position.
