Wednesday 15th August - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:
Morning everyone... I confess to waking up to feeling absolutely rubbish this morning. I've been a bit off colour for a couple of days but I got up this morning and have caught my son's conjunctivitis. Hope it's not working its way through the family otherwise someone's going to be all red eyed on the wedding photos.
So, not much of a list for me today:
[STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
Check for surveys
Washing done and on airer (raining outside)
nsd (I hope)
No gym today - too unwell (saving £2.85)
Go to my sister's house to sort music out for the wedding
Flylady if I feel up to it
Get ds to nursery and sleep on the sofa under my 'poorly blanket' all day.
Diet hard (hopefully my appetite will remain far away)
Have a good day all, sorry I sound so self pitying.
:pxxx

I forgot to add the following to my list this morning, but have remembered to do it
Chase the electrical company and insurance company who still owe me money. I've emailed one and phoned the other.
OH, who works nights took me out for breakfast this morning so hoping I won't need to worry too much about food for the rest of the day.
Thanks for well wishes, I'm off for a snooze in a second.

Hello all,
Thanks to wannabee for starting us off - hope your eye gets better soon.
I've been in hiding. I've been lurking occasionally, but have been a bit ashamed of myself. Really stuffed up my budget this month. After clearing a bumper load off my cc on payday (over £600), I have ended up through my overdraft (£50), using £30 of the housekeeping money and spending another £20 ish on my ccard due to unforseen vets bills and a little bit of devil-may-care frippery.
On top of that we spent about £450 on my cc on a trip to London. We bought tickets to the John Lord tribute concert at the Royal Albert Hall. (plus train travel and hotel) OH is going to pay for the tickets when he gets his money through in September, and it is a one-off chance to see some fantastic artists, but I can't help thinking that it's that type of attitude that got me into debt in the first place.
However I did compare hotels to get a good deal and get the cheapest train tickets I could. I also remember activating a 0% purchase rate on one of my cards but embarrassingly I can't remember if it's the one I paid with
I really need to tighten my belt to try and claw back some of the damage. So here goes!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores
Charge phone in work
Be scrupulous about electricity and gas at home
Make colleague's leaving card instead of buying it
Will be having NSDs as have no money left. Must try not to be tempted to put food etc on cc.
Start working on ideas for Christmas presents that I can make for cheap/free
Update signature
Keep to diet (doing well, am down to 9 stone 10.5)
Sorry for the unburdening. Really should keep posting on here, it keeps me focussed!
Have a good one guys
