Need new washing machine

Hi

Can anyone recommend a cheap washing machine? I just need a basic model with either a 900 or 1300 rpm spin. The current one has just tripped the electric out. I've had 7 years good service so I can't see the point in trying to repair.

Many Thanks

Anything from Costco as I understand they are offering lifetime warranty soon.

Same thing recently happened to us Sheffieldeagle - our washing machine of 12 years started tripping the electrics. Anyway, I had a scout around on here for recommendations and plumped for a Bosch model (aparently they are basically siemens machines but alot cheaper) 1400 spin (although you can adjust it between 800-1400).

We bought it from Comet online with a website only offer of £279. They delivered in a couple of days although we did pay for delivery (you can get it free aswell) but that meant we could choose when they delivered, they also rang us when they were on their way, unpacked it and took our old machine away - the cost of delivery was about half of what the saving was on the machine with the offer (iykwim).

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

I bought this Indesit one a couple of weeks ago and it seems excellent so far. It's the WIE167, 1600rpm, got digital display and many different programmes, but at a very sensible price of £220 delivered if you go through cashback sites. Pixmania use Currys to supply and mine was delivered within 48 hours for standard delivery charge. They also have the option to add installation and or scrap of old machine at a small extra cost which I found useful. This was the lowest price I could find for it after a very extensive search, but that was a couple of weeks ago, so that could have changed.

If you look at it on the Dixon's website you can check out the reevoo reviews which are very positive in the main. There is also a good video of the product to watch.

I chose Indesit, as my previous machine was Indesit and after 8 years was still going strong, it was just the fact that it was way too basic for my needs these days that made me take the decision to change it.

Take a look at the CO-OP Website, they sell some good washing machines like Samsung at very fair prices.

John Lewis will match In-store prices (not internet) & they give 2 yr warranty on white goods.

You could try argos, they start at £175 inc delivery.

It is possible it is just the brushes on the washing machine, about £25 plus fitting.
As long as the bearings in the drum are ok it is usually worth repairing, best for enviroment and pocket.

Also the older machines seem to be better made than the latest models.
