To contact the job direct or via agency?

I was recently contacted by a recruitment agency about a possible job. She said she picked my CV off a jobs board and would like to forward my details. After a chat about the company and role I realised I would LOVE to work there and am really excited about the opportunity.
I can't remember whether she said she would forward me some more details via email or not but this was on Thursday 9th Aug. I know it's only been 3 working days but I am really keen to know where I stand.
How long does this process take?
Will she definitely forward my CV?
I checked the company website and they're also advertising direct from there but not for the role I was contacted about. Should I contact the job direct, explaining that I've been contacted by the agency or just chill out and wait?
I'm only this anxious to get started because my current contract ends in September.
Any advice?

How did you know who the company was? Did the agency tell you? Was it stated in the advert?Leeleebrown wrote: »I was recently contacted by a recruitment agency about a possible job. Id apply direct as seriously you owe nothing to the agency till you have the job.
I'd apply direct and NOT mention the agency at all.0 -
Thanks for replying.
She told me who the company was, gave me their website address and even explained what account I'd be working on.
The problem with contacting them direct is the fact the job I was contacted about is not advertised on their website.0 -
You will not be breaking any rules of confidence as you haven't signed with the agency, just apply there is nothing to say you can lose.0

It could be the job doesnt exist, that it is in the pipeline hence not being up there or just one they intend to fulfill just via agencies.
You dont have any obligation to go via the agency but you may find the company doesnt want to deal with you directly and if the agency get wind of you trying to cut them out of the loop they are probably going to push candidates other than you.0
