Civil Service Compensation

Hi,
Looking for some advice from anyone who knows about the civil service compensation scheme.
My employment with the civil service is going to be terminated due to my long term illness and am told that they are in the process of obtaining details so they can calculate the compensation due to me.
I have been looking online at the details of how the payment is calculated and I am getting confused on how much I could potentially get.
Does anyone understand how this is calculated? some parts of the guidance says it is done the same way as voluntary early exit but then another part says it is done differently.
Would just like an idea of what I could expect so I am not overly confused when my work do tell me what they have calculated, I don't trust them to get it right!!!

You will get the pension you have built up to date paid immediatly and without any reduction foe it being paid before the normal retirement age.
Depending on your age/length of service you will get a varying amount of extra years service credited.
If the illness is the fault of the department (eg exposure to industrial chemicals) you will get the "full" pension ie it will be assumed you served until retirment age.
Which pension scheme are you in (classic, premium etc)
How old are you
How long have you worked for them
Whats your pensionable salary (feel free not to answer that one, it just makes the answer easier)0 -
It's something like 1 month's pay for every year you've worked there, I think. Similar to redundancy.
Your decision maker will decide what %age you'll get - 100% if other than illness you've had exemplary performance and 0% if you've been messing about and it's on poor performance that they're sacking you. Most genuine sick cases get 75-100%.

I know I am not getting my pension yet as due to my age and unknown quantity of my illness I will not be successful in getting an ill health pension and I do not want to go through the whole process and appeals at this stage. My pension will be preserved until retirement or if my illness gets worse and I can apply for early payment of preserved pension due to ill health.
I have never had poor performance and have been always highly commended on my work etc, no misconduct so in that respect I think as far as i know it will be 100% compensation. I have around 12 years service.
I did read that it was one months pay for each year but then I read another regulation that said it was one week for 5 years service and 2 weeks for 10 years so this is what confused me. I would ask my union rep but she isn't around for a few weeks.
I guess I will just have to wait until I get the figures from my employer and not expect too much although anything I get will be a great help.
If anyone does know what the calculation is it would be great if you could tell me, set my mind at rest a bit.0 -

Do you know what terms are they getting rid of you on?
I've got a nasty suspicion that, if you are unable to do the job & don't get ill-health retirement, they just kick you out the door or you resign. The job still exists so there's no redundancy situation & thus no redundancy payment0 -
I doubt that HR will get it wrong, they see cases like this frequently, and the rules are published for all to see. Have you seen the internal guidance on your departments intranet? If not, ask HR to provide it. Also the suggestion made earlier about contacting the union is a good one.
I`ve forgotten the exact formula, but your manager (or managers manager) will decide what %, up to 100% you qualify for. The percentage is appealable. The potential compensation, based on on years accrued and salary, is based on set figures and not appealable.

Are they getting rid of you on Capability Grounds ? - if they are all you will get is a compensatory payment and a pension frozen until you get to retirement age ( I think !).
Get all the info from management and speak to your PCS Rep (if you are a Union member) and discuss with them.0 -
