I know you've had fuller answers but I'd definitely say try a different drink to Vimto and preferably not fruit juice as a regular thing. W e tend to stick to water or milk and keep flavoured drinks, fizz and juices for treats.
Also, not sure what toast she has but wholemeal is healthiest by far.
She doesn't sound too overweight but it might get harder as she gets older so you're being a very thoughtful mum to establish good habits now.
Personally, I try to keep floury things, fatty things and sugary things as treats only. Most of our everyday eating is based on lean meat/eggs/fish, fruit and veg with minimal flour for sauces and plenty of herbs and spices.0 -

Unfortunately, wholemeal bread behaves in much the same way as white bread and will still cause a blood sugar spike. Wholegrain or multi-grain (i.e. granary, batch seed loaves etc) is far better and has a lower GI so will keep you fuller longer with a slower release of energy
I personally use Burgen's Soya & Linseed on the rare occasions I eat bread. Has a much better nutritional profile than any other bread I've come across so far.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
