  • I've had better success personally just getting free SIM cards at the end of contract and signing up again when your ideal phone becomes 'free'. The amount of time they have said NO to me when I've tried the haggling!!

See they make money on the contracts.. not by keeping you for a few months in between 'best deals'.

I am with O2 and when it came to renewing my contract they tried the same thing, but i just said that I want to move with Orange and get broadband for free. This motivated them enough to let me have the model of phone just under the one i wanted and give me 400 more text messages, so ive now got 900, and reduce my bill to 15 quid a month.
  • my sister (on o2) wanted to upgrade to a certain phone. she phoned up o2 and told them what she wanted, but they said no. she then stated that she had been offered a deal for it in-store with another provider, which wasnt actually true, but that got them to change their mind.
