Bankers, EA's, solicitors? Not sure if I should be taking that with a hint of sarcasm... :)

What are you talking about? They buy goods and services with their salaries don't they? Their employers have to rent and service buildings. How is that not contributing to the economy?

To remind you this is what you said:

So you agree that when you buy a house, your money wont be contributing anywhere else in the ecomony

  • House prices are where they are and there is no going backwards - in order for a recovery to take place in the wider economy we need house prices to rise. It's impossible to recover without houses going up in price

sounds like you are worried dude.
Maidstone Prices - average reductions at 8.5% (£19,668) Feb 2012 - We thought the dudes were not allowed to drop prices?

Can't quite figure this forum out sometimes. Are you telling me bankers, EA's, and solicitors are the struggling members of the work force that most deserve our money?

When I said that previously, I was thinking of anyone that doesn't have a hard time choosing which series of BMW to buy... you know, the gardeners, painters, joiners, or any of the construction people that are seeing job losses as a result of the tight squeeze we find ourselves in. I'm sure they would contribute a whole lot better than the walking talking armani suits of the world.

i thought the purpose of the account moneyinmypocket was an attempt at humour?

certainly not tedious drivel like this waste of pixels.
    FACT.

No I am suggesting that when they spend their salaries they stimulate (and therefore are contributing to) the economy (which was the original point that I addressed).

And how is the economy doing with them already earning shedloads of money? The original point was getting the whole economy picked up and moving again, not just making the slick kids richer. Yes, they technically contribute to the economy, but when particular sectors are struggling for work then don't you think it is better for things to be shared, and not be too lob-sided?

Of course it is better to be shared but as I have previously said I was specifically answering the point that you made, which was:

So you agree that when you buy a house, your money wont be contributing anywhere else in the ecomony

    Which is clearly not correct
