Swapping MP3 music files between friends

Not sure if it's legal or illegal, I guess it is a bit like borrowing a friend CD's and taping them for your own personal use. IS there a site where members can swap MP3 music files between them?

illegal if the music is copyrighted

"taping" for your mates is/was illegal too

Limewire is not illegal, but sharing (either up or downloading) copyrighted material is illegal

Any free copyrighted music is illegal even if your friend bought the music in the first place.

And it's illegal to save copyright free music onto your iPod - as changing it to copy protected status breaks the terms!
