I've been doing the same thing. Daily report sheets from nursery when she has reached milestones, newspapers and coins from birth, no.1 single etc. I also bought an A5 hardback notebook that I write letters to her in when the mood takes me or something happens. I am putting together annual photobooks with pictures of her artwork, favourite toys and people. It's a lovely record of how she's changing.
If she chooses to not keep it when she grows up then that is her choice but it is at least a choice she has and I am enjoying doing it.0 -
I love this idea, I think it's wonderful and they will really appreciate it!

I think give it to them both together when they are 21 and 18 on christmas eve or something so that it is a surprise for both and you can all enjoy going through the memories together.0 -
I love this idea, I'd have loved to have had a memory box to go through. My Mum was a little hit-and-miss with saving things and I wish she'd been more organised (as it was she only bothered to fill in half my baby book!
). As soon as I find out I'm pregnant I'll be starting a memory box and I plan on making a scrapbook for each year which will document all of their firsts as well as schoolwork and reports etc as they get older.
If they don't want to keep it all fine, I'll keep it for myself!

This is such a lovely idea. I am stealing it! I have a 10 month old son and have lots of little memories and souvenirs of the last 10 months already. Lovely idea!:T Mummy to 1. Devoted wife. Christmas addict! Life lover. Thrifter & Crafter. OU Student :T0

I have a bottle of wine for the years my kids were born in, as well as the obligatory newspaper from the day they were born. Add to that their belly button pegs from when they were born and all their milk teeth and I think that would be something special to give them when they come of age

Fabulous idea - just make sure you keep them somewhere accessible. We have similar items, just from the first year of their lives though, that are put away in a drawer we can't get to now! Have to dismantle some furniture to get to it!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
